My name is Aleksandra, and my mission is to help you be present instead of worrying about the future or living in the past. I offer psychotherapy in Brno and help my clients become aware of themselves and responsible for their happiness.

Services
 
Depending on your needs, you may want to choose between individual psychotherapy, group psychotherapy or workshops.
 
Individual psychotherapy is a private session where we meet one-on-one usually once a week for up to 50 minutes and discuss your problems in a confidential and safe setting. This is a process through which we work together to explore your feelings, beliefs, or behaviors. We will work through challenging or influential memories and identify aspects of your life that you would like to change. You will understand yourself and others better, set personal goals, and work towards a desired change. It doesn't matter if you have issues with anxiety, panic attacks, depression or even burn out. Contact me and we can discuss ways of making things better.

Workshops are a good option when you want to develop a new skill or to improve an existing one. Topics can vary from communication skills to more intimate issues. The number of participants is usually higher than in group therapy. The goal is to learn a new skill in one session (2-5h). I offer tailored workshops for companies and organization and individuals can join my workshops through Naucmese.cz.  

Some of the workshops I offer:

Stress less
Modern life is fast, demanding, and full of challenges. Navigating through all the demands and having it all isn't always easy. When we feel like demands overcome our capacities, we stress.
Goal of this workshop is to discover what causes stress in your life, to learn to shift perspective and regain balance, and peace in your life.
The workshop is 3 hours long and made for six people.

Emotional intelligence
 
Being emotionally intelligent means dealing with other people successfully. But we cannot understand other people if we don't understand ourselves. That is why in this workshop, you will learn about feelings: to recognize them, to appreciate them, and to express them in the best possible way.
 
Besides this, you will learn about empathy and how to build better social skills.
 
This workshop is 8 hours long (can be done in two meetings) and made for up to 10 people.

Communicate like a pro
 
If you ever searched for a job, you noticed that most of the ads state communication skills as required. In every type of business, as well as in day-to-day life, clear communication makes a difference. Whether you want to increase your productivity, avoid conflicts and misunderstandings, make everything you do run smoothly, or have good relations in your team, this workshop can help.
 
It is available for up to 10 people, and it is 4 hours long.

Group psychotherapy are sessions that happen in a group of people with similar problems. Group usually meets twice a month and sessions last for 2 hours. Group therapy helps you improve social skills and empathy, and at the same time, it improves your feeling of belonging. This type of environment offers you finding creative solutions and direct feedback from regular people just like you. Providing a supportive atmosphere and being as close as possible to everyday experiences, makes group psychotherapy a great choice.
My approach
 
After initial contact by phone or email, we will agree on the first session. During this session, you will have the opportunity to express your wishes and expectations, and we will line out an approach to help you. Depending on your needs, therapy can last from a few months to a few years.

My work is based on the following principles:
 -every person is unique, and because of that I approach every client as a clean slate
 -appreciation of the relationship between body, mind and soul is essential for wellbeing
 -if we want to get rid of unresolved anger, sadness, pain or shame, we cannot just talk about it we must actively work on it in the present
 -awareness helps us learn more about ourselves, which in return helps us live our lives with confidence and joy
  
As a psychotherapist, I can help you if:
 -you feel alone and hopeless
 -you can't make a decision
 -you feel scared
 -you struggle to achieve your goals
 -you find it hard to communicate with people close to you
 -you are going through a heartbreak or a period of mourning
 -it's hard for you to be in a long term relationship and many other situations where you need support

About me
 
I earned my Master's of psychology degree at the University of Nis, Serbia. During the studies, I developed an interest in psychotherapy and clinical psychology. This interest motivated me to try different psychotherapeutic approaches. I found Gestalt psychotherapy to coincide the most with my life philosophy, and that is why I decided to learn more about it. Art, nature, and new experiences help me recharge and enjoy life a little bit more.

My office
 
My office is located in the Palace Morava building at Malinovského nám. 603/4, 602 00 Brno on the 3rd floor; office 320.
 
It's a 10 minute walk from the main train station or you can take trams 1, 2, 4, 9, 11 or bus 67 which all stop in front of the building. The stop name is "Malinovského náměstí (Rooseveltova)".
